Aneesh Mehta was born and raised in Northern Virginia, the child of immigrants and a family full of entrepreneurs.
Aneesh attended the University of Maryland and studied both informational sciences and entrepreneurship, obtaining his BA and MA in five years. He began his professional life with General Electric, where he quickly realized he did not want to be stuck behind a desk and moved into business development.
He founded Improvix over several months in 2012-2013, fulfilling his lifelong dream of entrepreneurship. Of all the opportunities entrepreneurship offers, his favorite is the opportunity to see how well a company could do by prioritizing culture and people. Over the past seven-plus years, he has learned that a strong culture resonates with like-minded people, though demographic backgrounds do vary. People who buy into the culture then step up to enhance it, and the result is increased productivity and connection amongst all staff – delivering better results for customers.
Aneesh is an avid sports fan, especially of Washington, DC teams. Like many in the area, his favorite is the Washington football team, and observing Joe Gibbs’ “coaching up” philosophy taught him a lot about how to lead. As Aneesh says, “The most successful sports organizations drive employee and player happiness. They won’t win every game, but they have an amazing record of wins over the course of a season…Putting people in a positive situation helps them perform, and that’s what we try to do here at Improvix.”
