Born in Alabama, Nicole’s family moved to the Northern Virginia area when she was in high school because her mother, a lifelong DoD employee, was reassigned to this area. Nicole studied English and History at Virginia Commonwealth University. While she worked on a Masters in English from George Mason University she was offered her first government position: Technical Writer in the Human Resources Bureau of the State Department.
Nicole and Aneesh met during the nearly-decade-long period when Nicole worked for the HR bureau. Years later, she decided to leave the Federal Government for the private sector because of the alignment of her people-first values with Aneesh’s leadership. Nicole feels supported in her belief that being there for the team – providing a safe space for employees to share stress and problem-solve – is the most important leadership quality in any organization.
Nicole shares her home with her husband, stepson, and their dog, Penelope (a King Charles Cavalier). She says one of the best things about working at Improvix, other than supporting client missions, is sharing great food with passionate people.
